I make it clear to my clients that, from the time they start working with me until the matter is over, my job is to carry the burden of worrying about their case.

Austin Batalden

Austin Batalden is a Portland family law attorney who excels in providing empathetic, efficient, and results-oriented representation to her clients. She believes it is important to represent all clients – traditional and nontraditional families – with kindness and thoughtfulness.

Austin’s clients value her ability to guide them through the often difficult terrain of a divorce or custody case with genuine support and a clear plan to move forward.

“I make it clear to my clients that, from the time they start working with me until the matter is over, my job is to carry the burden of worrying about their case,” says Austin.

Austin began her legal career in 2008 focusing on civil litigation, where she honed her understanding of procedure, strategy, and negotiation. She has since refocused her energy on family law, after discovering that she was more fulfilled serving families instead of corporations.

In order to provide exceptional service with compassion, Austin ensures that her clients are informed on the legal process and competently guided throughout.

“It is my goal to know my client's main concerns about the process. I want to be able to educate my clients as to how the process works, what to expect, and what options they have,” says Austin.

Having worked as a mediator, Austin’s background and certification in dispute resolution affords her clients more options in resolving their family law issues.

When not practicing law, Austin loves to cook – a talent enjoyed by her wife and friends. She also keeps active with hot yoga, kayaking, and hiking.
