About Rainer Frank
Attorney Rainer Frank brings to family law a fascinating background and wide perspective that helps him understand people from all walks of life. He’s traveled widely and has lived and attended school in England, Germany, and the U.S. He has worked on a farm, in a factory, and in construction. The son of a Marine Corps officer, he comes from a family that values service. Rainer credits this environment for his personal work ethic and for his choice to practice family law, which he has done for over 15 years.
“In family law, I can help individuals in distress and can have a helpful, direct and immediate impact,” says Rainer. “I have a broad perspective when meeting new people. One of the things I love about family law is that I get to help real people deal with very real, very significant issues in their lives.”
Rainer believes the first priority in any family law matter is to get to know the client and to understand the client’s unique situation and needs. He says, “I advocate strongly for my clients, and once I understand their goals, the first task is to stabilize what is typically a very unsettled situation,”
Once mechanisms are in place that allow the client to continue functioning, he gets to work preparing his case.
“I gather the information necessary to advance the case to trial, with the hope that the case may settle,” says Rainer. “I don’t want to create an unnecessarily adversarial environment, but I approach each case as if it were going to trial. My experience has been that this approach actually promotes settlement.”
Rainer represents clients in divorce and legal separations, domestic partnerships, parenting plan modifications, child support modifications, QDROs, contempt proceedings, and enforcement actions on post decree property issues.
Rainer and his wife enjoy the considerable job of managing their two children, who are active with school, premier level soccer, and competitive gymnastics. When he gets the chance, he likes to sea kayak throughout the Puget Sound and backpack in the Cascades — but mostly ends up road cycling closer to home or tending to his two energetic chocolate labs.Next >>
