Family law firm earns its highest employee survey score to date, with 100% of respondents reporting a sense of belonging, respect and trust in their teams
SEATTLE – August 21, 2026 – McKinley Irvin, one of the Pacific Northwest’s largest family law firms, has been ranked #3 in the midsize companies category on Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2026 Washington’s Best Workplaces list. The recognition comes as McKinley Irvin earned a 93.34 employee survey score, its highest to date.
Now in its 20th year, Washington’s Best Workplaces recognizes companies across the state for exceptional workplace cultures based on confidential feedback from their employees. Nearly 200 Washington companies participated in the 2026 program, with 100 selected as honorees.
This year, 73 McKinley Irvin employees participated in the survey, with results reflecting particularly strong marks for belonging, teamwork, trust and pride in the firm:
- 100% said they feel like they belong at McKinley Irvin.
- 100% said the people they work with treat each other with respect.
- 100% said they can depend on the other members of their team.
- 98.6% said they are proud to work at McKinley Irvin.

- 98.6% said they trust senior leadership to lead the firm to future success.
“What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it comes directly from our employees,” said Steve McCracken, CEO of McKinley Irvin. “We work hard to create a place where people feel valued, supported and connected to one another and to the important work we do for our clients. A score of 93.34 is something we’re incredibly proud of because it reflects how our people experience McKinley Irvin every day.”
Employees reinforced those results in their anonymous survey comments, frequently pointing to collaboration, support and respect as defining characteristics of the firm’s culture.
“McKinley Irvin is a truly special place to work,” wrote one employee. “People are valued here, and the work we do is recognized and appreciated.”
Another employee shared: “This is the best place I have worked in a very long career.”
The 2026 recognition continues McKinley Irvin’s strong showing in Washington’s Best Workplaces. The firm ranked #6 in its category in 2025 and has consistently focused on creating a workplace where employees have the support, resources and opportunities to grow and succeed.
“Our culture has always been about more than creating a great place to work,” McCracken added. “When people feel supported and connected, they are better positioned to do meaningful work and provide exceptional service to our clients. Our employees are what make this firm what it is.”
The Puget Sound Business Journal revealed the final rankings for its 2026 Washington’s Best Workplaces at an August 20 celebration at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
