Katherine Czubakowski Attorney

For Katie Czubakowski, family law isn't about conflict. It's about helping people find a path forward.

Katie found her calling during an internship with a family law attorney, where she quickly realized she loved helping families navigate change with purpose. What began as an unexpected career path soon became a profession she found deeply rewarding.

"I love helping people figure out what the next stage of their life is going to be," Katie says. "Whether it's creating a parenting plan or helping someone move forward after a difficult chapter, I want to help them build a plan that works for their family."

Katie approaches every case by listening first. She believes effective advocacy starts with understanding not only what clients are saying, but what they truly need. By working collaboratively, she develops practical, personalized strategies that reflect each client's goals and priorities.

"I like to say that I'm a better listener than I am a talker," she explains. "I spend a lot of time listening, reflecting back what I'm hearing, and working with clients to find solutions that fit their lives."

Known for her calm, steady presence, Katie strives to reduce unnecessary conflict whenever possible while remaining a strong advocate when litigation becomes necessary. She believes lasting solutions are often built through thoughtful negotiation and mediation, but she is equally prepared to guide clients through complex trials when the situation demands it.

Katie is especially drawn to complex areas of family law, including parentage cases involving allegations of sexual assault between parents, de facto parentage, appeals, and tribal law. Her interest in tribal law began through the University of Washington Tribal Clinic, where she represented clients in Tulalip Tribal Court. More broadly, she enjoys helping clients navigate novel legal issues in areas where the law continues to develop and established precedent may be limited.

Outside the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young daughters, and their two energetic Belgian Malinois, Ellie and Marley. A Maryland native, she also enjoys visiting local farmers markets, trying new restaurants, baking, and dusting off her piano whenever family life allows.
