WASHINGTON D.C. — David Starks, Managing Partner of the Seattle-based divorce and family law firm McKinley Irvin, will be presenting on international family law topics at the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law Conference on May 26.

The ABA’s Section of International Law Conference takes place May 25-26 at the ABA’s headquarters in Washington D.C. This year’s focus for the conference is International Families — Money, Children, and Long Term Planning. Throughout the event, notable law professionals will be speaking on international law topics such as child support, prenuptial agreements, and international family formation and child relocation.

David Starks will be presenting along with other law professionals on May 26 on the topic of Recognition of Foreign Court Orders and Conflicts of Laws. Starks is the current Co-Chair of the ABA International Law Section’s Family Law Committee and an ABA Section Advisor to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and its Drafting Committee on the Implementation of the Hague Convention on the Protection of Children.

A Seattle-based attorney, Starks became McKinley Irvin’s Managing Partner in January of 2012. In addition to his ABA appointments, Starks is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML). Starks is an acknowledged authority in international divorce and family law, and he will share his knowledge at the ABA conference this month.
