Family law matters often come at times of significant change, and Erin Patterson believes clients deserve clear guidance and steady support along the way. She takes the time to listen, understand what matters most to each client, and help them move forward with thoughtful solutions that protect both their future and their families. Based in McKinley Irvin’s Seattle office, Erin represents clients in divorce, parenting plans, and complex custody matters.
“My goal is to help clients understand what’s ahead and feel supported through the process, so they can make thoughtful decisions for themselves and their families.”
Erin’s path to family law grew from her natural inclination to work closely with people and help them through difficult situations. Early in her career, she handled high-conflict family law matters involving domestic violence, CPS issues, and complex parenting disputes. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the emotional and legal challenges families face and reinforced her commitment to helping clients move forward with stability and dignity.
She later broadened her experience through civil litigation, where she developed strong trial and case strategy skills while mentoring attorneys and helping build a California litigation practice. Ultimately, Erin returned to family law, where she felt her work had the greatest impact.
“As soon as I stepped back into family law, it just clicked into place,” she says. “This is exactly where I’m meant to be.”
Erin is particularly passionate about cases involving children and works to help families reach solutions that support both parents and their children. Outside of work, she enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, painting, and reading fantasy novels.
