Christa Melton is a compassionate and principled family law attorney who helps clients navigate challenging transitions with empathy and integrity. Since joining McKinley Irvin’s Everett office in 2021, she has earned a reputation for being responsive, respectful, and genuinely invested in her clients’ well-being.
Christa believes in open, honest communication and makes sure her clients feel heard and supported throughout their case.
“I’ll never hide the ball or disappear when my clients need me,” she says. “They deserve to know that I hear them, respect them, and am willing to go to bat for them.”
Before joining McKinley Irvin, Christa volunteered with the Moderate Means Program during law school, where she worked with clients facing trauma, domestic violence, and other family conflicts.
“Volunteering instilled in me the importance of compassionate advocacy. This is an important attribute for family law attorneys to take into their practice, as we help people navigate very difficult times in their lives.”
Her background in writing and love of storytelling also inform her work. Christa listens closely to her clients’ stories to better understand their needs and goals. She also uses her talent for bringing people’s experiences to life through words in her oral and written advocacy to obtain beneficial results for her clients. If she weren’t a lawyer, she says, she’d be a novelist.
On weekends, you’ll find her reading a book with an extra-large cup of coffee, at the farmer’s market, or hiking with her husband and their beloved Golden Retriever, Scout. She’s also proud to have summited Mount St. Helens after months of training—a personal goal she tackled with the same determination she brings to her practice.
Her personal motto? “The only time I set the bar low is for limbo.” —Michael Scott
