A natural competitor at heart, Chad Eubanks acknowledges that the competitive aspects of practicing law first attracted him to the profession.
"I have always enjoyed sports--one person or team against another person or team," he explains. "Law provides that same kind of 'us versus them' setting, but the stakes are even higher than a win-loss record. Serving clients well requires intellect, empathy, stamina and thorough knowledge of the law."
"As with sports," adds Chad, "good lawyering also means you must stay sharp and on your toes at all times. You can never let yourself be preoccupied or unprepared."
In addition to his competitive spirit, Chad says his natural problem--solving abilities serve him well in his role as a McKinley Irvin associate.
"Cutting through confusion and disagreements and finding solutions has always come easily to me," he notes. "And at its core, that is what the law is: solving problems in the best way possible for all the people concerned."
The challenge for family law attorneys, in particular, says this Gonzaga University law graduate, is working with clients in a way that helps them make rational, reasonable decisions during a highly emotional time in their lives. He admits it can be difficult for families in conflict to keep their emotions in check, but adds that maintaining that kind of balance can have "a direct impact on a fair and positive resolution to their problems."
At McKinley Irvin, we work as a team, sharing resources and capabilities to provide the best possible service--and secure the best possible outcomes--for our clients."

Prior to joining McKinley Irvin in 2008, Chad worked at two respected private law firms and for the Gig Harbor City Attorney's Office. In the process, he developed a strong sense of the traits he wishes to emulate as a practicing lawyer. "The best attorneys are confident, yet reasonable," he notes. "They assess situations sensibly to determine how the court might rule in a best case scenario for their clients; then they push passionately for that outcome, demanding nothing less."
According to Chad, family lawyers must possess not only this level of dedication, but also a desire to keep cases moving so that their clients are spared months of living in limbo.
"I appreciate momentum. Cases are won by keeping them going from start to finish," Chad adds. "At McKinley Irvin, we press our cases forward on behalf of our clients. If opposing counsel can't or won't keep up, then they simply get left behind."
McKinley Irvin proudly serves Washington State with offices in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Puyallup and Gig Harbor.
