About Jamie R. Walker
With more than a decade of distinguished family law practice under her
belt, McKinley Irvin partner Jamie Walker remains convinced that an up-close-and-personal
approach to interacting with clients and colleagues nets optimal results.
“So much law these days is handled via emails or letters”
explains this Snohomish County native who practices primarily out of the
firm’s Tacoma office. “It’s easy to hide behind these
impersonal methods of communication,” she adds, “but you can
usually get a lot more accomplished, even with opposing counsel, by picking
up the phone and engaging in a real conversation.”
That approach to doing business says a lot about the way Jamie chooses
to interact with the individuals and families she represents. She is accessible,
empathetic, and deeply committed to her clients’ welfare, tailoring
her strategic approach and style to their individual needs. She is also, in the
words of one former client, “inventive, intelligent, and appropriately
aggressive when required.”
The prolific writer and public speaker admits to possessing a decidedly
competitive spirit. “I practice law with meticulous attention to
detail, thoughtful planning, a good measure of compassion, and a genuine
desire to do what is best for my clients in all circumstances. And yes,
I admit it: I like to win, too.”
Experienced in a broad range of family law matters, including complex
divorce and child custody cases, Jamie places a high premium on crafting
legal settlements that serve her clients in the long term.
“It’s important that I understand where my clients are coming
from, what their current circumstances look like, and what they hope to
accomplish after their case is completed,” she explains. “I
never close a case with my clients wondering, ‘What do I do now?’
An important part of my responsibility is helping them plan for a future
of promise and possibility.”
Affiliated with McKinley Irvin since 2012, this busy wife and mother says
she has grown and prospered professionally during her time with the firm.
“When it comes to family law,” she insists, “McKinley
Irvin has always been the gold standard.”
