How do I file for divorce in Clark County, Washington?
In Washington, the divorce process (called dissolution) begins when one spouse files a Summons and a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage in Superior Court, usually in the county where either party resides. How long does a divorce take?
After filing the required documents, the parties must wait 90 days before their divorce can be finalized. Once the 90-day waiting period passes, the parties may finalize their divorce by agreement, by trial before the court, or by some combination of both.
