Director of Marketing - Seattle

McKinley Irvin is a regional leader in our industry and we intend to grow nationally. At the same time, legal services, a highly dynamic industry, is going through an exciting time of disruption and opportunity, and McKinley Irvin is on the vanguard of this changing landscape.

In order to ensure that our brand is impeccable and our message clearly reaches the right markets, we are adding a Director of Marketing to our executive management team right away. This vital team member will plan, oversee, and execute all online and traditional marketing projects and services for the firm. We know that someone with a website-first approach to building marketing strategy, as well as outstanding creativity, technical insight, and a strong professional business sense will be what we need to drive our marketing efforts, and the growth of our firm in the right direction.

Our Director of Marketing will be a proven manager of people, vendors, and projects, with the technical expertise to understand and guide the work being done by others.

These are a few of the key areas that the Director of Marketing will focus on:

  • Evaluate the online competitive environment in new markets.
  • Design and execute strategy to penetrate and dominate search results and other online channels in new markets to drive towards growth objectives.
  • Conceptualize marketing campaigns that will advance the firm's business, marketing, and branding objectives.
  • Provide Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategy for organic (SEO) and paid (PPC) efforts along with detailed reporting, ROI calculations and executive summaries.
  • Oversee the firm's traditional marketing programs, including vendor management of outside marketing/PR firm, including print & digital advertising, sponsorships, PR activities, etc.

We think a great Director of Marketing for us will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications - or relevant degree in related field.
  • 7-10 years' experience in an agency or in-house professional environment.
  • Successful management and leadership experience of teams and vendors.
  • Proven success as a marketing leader and a key strategist in a growth environment.
  • Knowledge, based on past hands-on experience, of best practices for all aspects of an online marketing strategy, including SEM, SEO, and PPC, with a website-first approach.
  • Exceptional skill as a wordsmith and editor of others' work, and an eye and ear for the firm's brand aesthetic.
  • Experience working with web analytics tools (preferably Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools), providing regular reporting and analysis, and making recommendations based on analysis.
